Network Security
Within the world of technology and the continuation of evolution in this space, many things can be taken advantage of and stolen. We need network security in our everyday lives because without it our information can and will be stolen by malicious actors. Network security helps us protect our underlying network infrastructure from others that steal our information that includes passwords and other personal details. Any computer can be vulnerable to any type of threat such as vulnerabilities and even social engineering. It is a major thing to look out for and can cause serious and maybe irreversible damage if not taken care of correctly. Even ping commands can be dangerous as they can cause an DDoS attack which is a Denial of Service attack that can shut down an website.
Vulnerabilities are the most common way for people to get into a system it doesn't involve anybody and can go completely unnoticed. Plenty of giant scams are hijacks of information have been taken through this method of finding vulnerabilities and security holes such as the 2011 Sony hack. Because of this massive data breach, it costs Sony 1 billion U.S. dollars because of brand damage due to negative customer sentiment. Having a vulnerability within your system can do a lot of damage and can cost a lot of money to fix, especially for how big it could be. But that's not the only way they can get into your system.
Hackers can also get through the system through social engineering methods as well. They use social engineering to manipulate and make sure they can use the victim to get into the system and steal a bunch of personal information such as passwords or financial details. Today, these two ways of getting into a security system is the most common and can do a lot of damage if it happens. That is why it is important to protect all information from malicious bad actors. But there are ways to stop and prevent a security breach from even happening.
Security breaches can happen to anybody, which is why you need to be safe as well. There are many ways to protect a computer system or network from these types of security breaches. For vulnerabilities you can protect yourself by making sure you have a strong password or making sure everything is up to date within the system. And for social engineering, you can make sure to double check any links you can click and to double check if anything seems off. These are very effective ways to make sure that your data isn't stolen.
That's all for this post, have an nice day!
