Documenting a Day

 There were many types of applications such as word processor, spreadsheet, presentation, and database applications. Microsoft makes products that go through all these functions like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. We use these tools a lot in our everyday lives, and they are useful applications that can be applied to many things. While there are some similarities between the programs there are also some advantages and disadvantages depending on which program you use.

Microsoft Word is a program where you can create and make documents in both a casual and professional form making it the best way to make papers or memos. But it is not great for calculations and creating places for keeping data. That job is for the spreadsheet creator Microsoft Excel since it is made to create charts for your information. While it can do those things it can’t present them as well as PowerPoint. Microsoft PowerPoint is a great tool to translate the data you have and the documents you made into a visually pleasing presentation. While this is good it also has a disadvantage in it not being a formal way to show certain information.

The application that is most appropriate for documenting the information about your day is Microsoft Word. Not only does it have a great user interface that is easily able to understand, but it also has support for saving to the cloud and is integrated with the other office products that are available. From personal experience, I used Word a lot of times to just write down what I had done a certain day. It is a great tool for documents and a great tool that can work well with other applications. The application can import spreadsheets into the document and images from your presentations to your word document.

There are a lot of application types that are used for very specific things. But that doesn’t mean all of them can work together in synergy while being good at their main task. Word processors, spreadsheet processors, presentation apps, and database applications all have their own things they are good at, but some apps shine. The Microsoft suite of products, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and more covers a lot of pages for everyday use and can be used to create great things. These types of applications will continue to be used for the foreseeable future.

Programming Languages

  Scratch is a website used to create things using building block type coding. It is used by millions and is also used to help teach many others how to create many things like animations, music, and even simple video games. I used to use this program way back in middle school to try to learn programming. As someone that has used this tool before going back to it felt somewhat familiar as I was able to create a very simple scratch project within 30 minutes to an hour.
